FFB Loading Ramp Part 1

There are 2 types of hydraulic system used at the FFB Loading Ramp.


A) Catwalk Platform type Serving Maximum 14 doors comprising of :-


Rickman Single hydraulic power pack Model THOR 80-4-16 to the following specifications:-
  • 80 litres working capacity
  • Grit blasted and coated with primer, reservoir resistant to mineral oil
  • 4 kW 1450 rpm 3 Ph, 415 V, 50 Hz TEFC vertical flanged electric motor
  • Fixed displacement heavy duty gear pump or equivalent and better alternative, capacity 23 litres/min each at maximum operating pressure of 175 bar gauge
  • Adjustable relief valve, pressure manifold, glycerine filled pressure gauge
  • 10 micron return line filter, 125 micron strainer and 10 micron filter–breather
  • Level gauge complete with thermometer


Welded Type Hydraulic Cylinders - Model CDL63/35-915 to the following specifications:-
  • Of dimensions conforming to ISO 3320
  • Minimum 63 mm bore x 915 mm working stroke
  • Cylinder barrel of seamless cold drawn tube
  • Wall thickness 6.5 to 7 mm
  • Surface finish – approximately 0.4 micron
  • Minimum 35 mm diameter piston rod of hard chrome plated carbon steel with surface finish to 0.25 – 0.4 micron
  • Piston ring seal with double back up rings for low friction and high static sealing
  • Both ends female clevis attachments complete with pins



Directional Control Valve - Model DCV100/2S to the following specifications:-
  • Shall be installed in banks, each of two levers
  • Shall be capable of 170 bar pressure
  • Minimum 100 litres/min capacity flow, low pressure drop not exceeding 2.5 bar gauge for all flow conditions
  • Integral relief valve preset at 100 bar complete with load drop check and bypass flow control
  • High pressure carry-over feature suitable for tandem operation



Piping Works:-
  • Shall be carried out by the supplier’s own installation crew. Work through sub-contracting will not be allowed
  • Main pressure and return lines of 20 mm OD x 2 mm thick seamless cold drawn hydraulic tubings. Cylinder lines shall be 16 mm x 2 mm thick tubings
  • 12 mm ID 2-wire braided flexible pressure hoses for cylinders
  • All hydraulic tubings and supporting brackets
  • All hydraulic tubings and braided flexible hoses shall be rated for a working pressure of 210 bar gauge
  • All unions and fittings shall be heavy duty bite type to DIN 2353
  • Clamping system should be single clamp type with polypropylene jaws
  • NO WELDING / BRAZING WILL BE ALLOWED
